So, here it is ladies and gentlemen! My very first post on this crazy little blog of mine. I'm excited to see where this world takes me!
I have been busy teaching my first graders this year. It has been somewhat challenging being hired exactly 2 weeks before school starts, but I'm enjoying every minute of it! I changed districts this year so I have had to get used to all of the little things that are different, but so far so good!
I'm going to sum up our week. I'm not all crafty yet taking pictures and stuff to post because; I forget, don't have time, forget my camera, etc. You'll soon realize that I'm a little scatter brained. My husband would probably agree whole heartedly with that statement! Anyway! The past few months have been spent arranging and rearranging my room, our seating arrangements, and schedule. I think now that the first quarter is almost over I might be able to say I'm getting into the swing of things.
So, to get to this past week. We worked on ways to make ten using an awesome unit purchased from Teachers Pay Teachers. (If I can figure out how to post some links I will) We started our guided reading groups this week and it went really well! I have my kids doing Daily 5 rotations while I'm working with small groups. We have been practicing REALLY hard since the beginning of school and they're loving it! This makes me love it too! We also threw in a few Fire Safety activities! That's about it. I will try to be better at updating things and using pictures to help you see what we're up too! Until next time!
